These are a treat. No creepy fake fruit taste here. Instead, a whole wheat muffin bursting with ripe strawberries and a swirl of Nutella goodness. And let’s be honest, you really can’t go wrong with Nutella. Nutella on bread, on fruit, by the spoonful…this is a judgement free zone, friends. They’re a versatile treat too (if you need any more convincing) and make for both a satisfying yet healthy dessert and not-too-sweet morning fuel. So why don’t you just trust us and whip up a batch? ps. These are best the day you bake them, when the strawberries are most fresh.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees, line a muffin tin with liners (this recipe makes about 8 muffins)
Mix dry ingredients in a medium bowl
Combine egg, oil, milk and vanilla extract in a small bowl
Mix the wet ingredients in to the flour mixture, stirring regularly
Fold the strawberries in to the batter
Fill each muffin cup half way with batter, drop a small dollop of Nutella on top of batter, fill remainder of the cup with batter
Bake for 20-25 minutes, until a toothpick comes out clean
Let cool, or screw self-control and enjoy still warm!
